Dyeing with Indigo: From Garden to Cloth
Discover the magic of fresh Japanese indigo straight from the garden! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of dyeing with freshly harvested indigo leaves from Farmington Greenhouse and cold water to create stunning turquoise hues. Watch as the color transforms before your eyes—from leafy greens to soft sky blues to brilliant turquoise and everything in between.

Each participant will dye both a silk scarf and a bandana, experimenting with different techniques to capture the range of colors. You’ll also see a special demo using salt and fresh leaves as an alternative method, showcasing even more possibilities of this ancient dye plant.
